This painting is named after the two old fishing boats moored in front of these beautifully coloured boatsheds in the Pauatahanui Inlet north of Wellington. Having spent some time as a part-time deckhand, these old girls really caught my attention.This edition has sold out.

Dad ran the naval station on Great Barrier Island for 13 years giving me ample opportunity to stay on this little piece of paradise in the Hauraki Gulf. We travelled around taking lots of pics and I have painted many scenes from those days, including this one. Purchased form the artshow a few years ago now by a lovely lady.

Every year when the pohutukawa flower I get inspired and can't wait to paint their glorious colour. Then I swear I'll never do another because of the amount of work in them (each leaf has 3 coats)..but then they flower and look so amazing again and I just have to paint one! The southern end of Teal Bay has a lovely entrance to the estuary known as the lagoon by locals. Perfect for swimming and launching the dinghy at high tide and picturesque at any time of the day or tide. This pohutukawa branch is part of a tree that has fallen and continues to grow on the sandy floor..and features in quite a few paintings! This is an original only with no prints.  

I guess this is arguably one of the most picturesque spots in and one which always blows me away when heading to Aoraki/Mt Cook. Wellingtons suburb of Miramar has a little stretch of coastal road with this gorgeous wooden boatshed. I love how these are dotted all over our coastline in both the North and South Islands.
