Cyclamen leaf earrings

Cyclamen leaves have got to be my favourite leaf. Have you noticed how absolutely amazing the details and variety on them are? I have stylised the detail on mine to an art nouveau theme.

These earrings are cast solid sterling silver from a mould I had made from one of my wax carvings.
I have sanded them down and given them a matte finish for a lovely lustre, a bit like the muse.
The gemstones are natural green tourmalines and I have hand engraved the shape around them to add a sparkle that contrasts wonderfully with the matte leaf.

I love engraving with a graver, the process, the simplicity, the skill and the result. You just can’t get that bright sparkle and hand crafted feel with laser cut or cast or roll printing techniques.
