Getting Lost Cards

challenge players to venture beyond routine and discover hidden gems—waterfalls, shipwrecks, parks, and beaches—by embracing unplanned adventure. Born from a blended family's real-world explorations in New Zealand, these cards break free from algorithmic predictability and inspire genuine discovery.

The Scavenger Hunt Edition

This game gets people who love scavenger hunts to use their finds to send them on an adventure

This game gets people who love scavenger hunts to use their finds to send them on an adventure

The Scavenger Hunt Edition is a scavenger hunt and a getting lost game in one! Use the front of the cards for a traditional scavenger hunt for items like feathers, rocks, plaques, numbers, spider webs or traffic cones. Add in the back of the cards and you've got a Getting Lost game that takes the item you've found and turns this into your next direction or activity.

The Road Trip Edition

This game gets people who are up for a bit of a laugh to go on a crazy, unplanned adventure

The Road Trip Edition has everything you need for an unforgettable all ages road trip. Your course will be decided by dandelions, winners of running races, other cars, your odometer and other random directions. We’ll have you stopping along the way to support local businesses, forming roadside conga lines and having loads of fun.

The Bush Walk Edition

This game gets adventurers who love walking in the bush to slow down and immerse themselves more deeply

The Bush Walk Edition will have you using all your senses as you make your way a little differently on your next bush walk. We’ll connect you with nature, give you activities to do on your walk, get you to look more closely, use your imagination and yes, just enough directions to not get you too lost.

The Campground Edition

This game gets kids who are looking for things to do while camping to find adventures around the campground

The Campground Edition will have you building up your bike gang, playing spotlight, building forts, making wacky name changes, going on hunts around the campground for various things and a whole bunch of other fun things around the campground.

We've built this game around the things you told us that you'd love to see on a camping trip with your kids - showing gratitude, having fun, being active, having a few treats, caring for others, caring for the environment and making friends. We have a mix of activities to ensure there are some for inside the tent, caravan, camper or cabin if it's too yuck to go outside. And we've tried to make it suit as many campgrounds as we possibly can with activities that are easy to do with most free and a couple will cost a few dollars.

Want to get lost on the way to the Campground too? We recommend teaming this game up with our Camper Edition for even more fun!

The Walkers Edition

This game gets adventurers who love to explore on foot to walk different routes and find new places to explore

Grab your pack and head out on your walk. Your path will be decided by the birds, your shoe size, animals you pass, the weather, what other walkers are holding, letterboxes and street signs you pass and some other crazy directions along the way. The new directions rely on elements that change every time you are walking which means that even if you set out from the same spot on your walk you’ll have a different walk each time.

The Everybody Edition

This game gets people with disabilities who love to adventure without barriers to find new places to explore

Our Getting Lost Games are played by everybody. And we know that not everybody looks the same. We know that not everybody can read yet, or has the same mobility, or sees colours and words the same, or processes information the same. And that means that our games aren't the best they can be for everybody.

So we want to change that.

So we created the Everybody Edition of the Getting Lost Game. It's our most popular edition - the Adventurers Edition -but re-imagined to remove barriers so it is truly accessible to everybody. The Everybody Edition is also great for smaller children who are not yet reading and need visual clues instead to enable them to be the reader.
