Piritahi- Joint Together Already Ancient Aotearoa
- Additional information
Two friends enjoy the intimacy of night to share space, to share company whilst feeling the comfort and joy of friendship. Piritahi offers us a peek at two friends sitting in a space of intimate connection and ease.
(like Ko te Mea Nui) Piritahi follows on with the concept of pōria (bird snare) being used to snare a loved one.
The hōngi (touching of noses) is a symbolic greeting representing "eye to eye/ forehead to forehead" acceptance of one and other. The sharing of sacred breath through the nose.
It has been said that when two people meet using the hōngi they have become a representation of the divine. We created Piritahi to remember a best friend.
