Simply turn the central white knob to open the passage, to provide more space as the ants colony getting bigger. suggest, area 1 for colony up to 50, open area 2 can hold up to 400, open area 3 can hold up to 1000. ant need farm to fit colony size, that will let queen fell safe and lay eggs. on each side of farm have hole can screw a tube connect part in. then you can use it to connect more area you like. This ant nest features a new water system that allows ants to drink water without the risk of flooding and drowning.
