Hei Matau Medium Large Pounamu Pendant, Black Binding

Carved from Kahurangi pounamu by Ross Crump, from Design in Stone. A one-off size medium/large Hei Matau, its light green tones running clear through the curve of the hook.

The Hei Matau takes the form of the stylised fish hook, worn for a vital connection to te moana (the sea). Traditionally viewed as a guardian of the waters, it represents protection, prosperity and the role of a provider, guiding the wearer on their life path and promoting success and hauora (well-being).

Finished on an adjustable black cord and presented in an eco-friendly box, accompanied by cards detailing its meaning and care, a truly cherished taonga.
