Greenstone Hei Matau Sculpture

A greenstone Hei Matau suspended from a slender post, the hook rolling open into a wide spiral before sweeping up to a raised barb. Bright green runs through the stone, scattered with dark flecks. The post rises from a rough hewn greenstone slab polished smooth across the top.

The Hei Matau takes the form of the stylised fish hook, a symbol of protection and prosperity.
