Carved from Hapopo pounamu by Ironpan, a mother-and-son carving duo based on the West Coast. A one-off size small Kōuma breastplate that stands out with its marbled green tones and white flecks.
The Kōuma breastplate is worn over the chest for protection and wellbeing, a powerful symbol of both physical and symbolic protection. Worn over the torso, it reflects hauora (well-being), balance and harmony, representing personal armour and the nurturing of values for future generations.
