Tangiwai Large Toki Pounamu Pendant

Carved in our Arrowtown workshop from Tangiwai pounamu, this one-off large Toki tapers to a broad blade, its pale translucent body clouded with soft green and dark mineral inclusions.

Tangiwai is found near the opening of Milford Sound. Prized for its depth and clarity within rich olive-green tones, it has long been associated with strength, protection and safe journeys.
The Toki takes the form of the traditional adze, worn as a mark of strength, determination and courage. Finished on an adjustable black hand-woven cord and presented in an eco-friendly box with cards detailing its meaning and care.
