Hapopo Medium Whale Tail Pounamu Pendant, Black Binding
Carved from Hapopo pounamu by Ironpan, a mother-and-son carving duo based on the West Coast. A one-off medium Whale Tail, with notches cut along the tails end.
The Whale's Tail is worn for strength and guidance - a spiritual guide through life's journeys. It reflects a deep connection to the ocean, embodying the whale's power, intelligence and grace, offering direction and support along the way. The carved notches follow a traditional Māori carving practice, historically representing whakapapa and the passing of wisdom between generations; today they may also represent whānau members or loved ones.
Finished on a black plaited cord and presented in an eco-friendly box, accompanied by cards detailing its meaning and care - a truly cherished taonga.
