The Tesla Model Y requires an increased Load Rating compared to the Model 3. The APEX VS-5RX Forged wheel was designed specifically to cater to this increased vehicle weight.

This fitment sits 1/2" further out than the factory dual motor AWD wheels.
APEX recommends using the factory tyre size 255/40/20 tyres or 265/40/20 tyres. Either tyre option can be used as a direct fit.

Lightweight
Often over ~11 lb lighter than many of their OEM counterparts, the VS-5RX’s weight-savings make this wheel a true game changer in the SUV and EV category. Shaving ~45 lbs of unsprung rotational mass off of your SUV or EV vastly improves acceleration, braking, handling and even fuel/charge mileage.

OEM Tire Compatibility
Almost all VS-5RX fitments feature OEM tire compatibility, making it truly a plug-and-play performance upgrade for your SUV or EV that does not require shopping for different tire sizes.

Flush, No Hassle Fitments
The forged VS-5RX was engineered specifically for these fitments, which allowed us to design it from the ground-up to deliver an aggressive look with maximum concavity, have massive brake clearance, and provide a flush fitment without the hassle of modification or spacers.

Stiffer Spokes
Wheel stiffness is a critical performance metric that too often is ignored. The redesigned spokes of the VS-5RX are about 25% stiffer than the Sprint Line version.

Toughest Inner Lip
The VS-5RX utilizes the same inner lip as our Enduro motorsport wheels, putting material and strength where it matters the most.

Reinforced Front Lip
With the same outer lip as our Enduro line, VS-5RX uses extra material in the front lip for improved strength and durability. You can easily spot the beefed up design of an Enduro spec lip vs. the lightweight lip on a Sprint Line wheel.

10K Tons of Pressure
To make our forged wheels the strongest we can, we applied as much pressure as possible using a 10,000 ton forge. This extreme pressure increases the strength of the aluminum by eliminating porosity and improving the grain structure.

True Motorsport Blanks
Many companies use 3rd-party blanks intended for non-motorsport wheels which can severely limit sizes, concavity, spoke design, and critical brake clearance. We designed our very own blank profiles from scratch to give us total control over the final product.

Side-Milled Spokes
One of the most prominent features of the VS-5RX is its extra wide and deep side-milled spokes. Any excess material that doesn’t add strength is carved out using a precision CNC ball cutter. Not only does this offer a stunning visual characteristic, it dramatically decreases weight.

Weight Optimized
We conducted extensive Finite Element Analysis (FEA) to reinforce high-stress areas and to remove material where it didn’t improve strength. The result is a significantly stronger wheel with a minimal weight penalty over their RS counterparts.

Independently Tested
We don't rely solely on computer simulations or unverifiable in-house testing. We believe independent testing is critical to protect consumers in this unregulated industry. The VS-5RX is independently tested by ITS at their Michigan facility following JWL standards but pushed to much higher loads and much longer durations.
