"Kia ora - Hello! I am Kat. I live in Kirikiriroa (Hamilton), Aotearoa (New Zealand) with my busy whānau.
I have been illustrating for over 20 years and work out of my award-winning educational design studio, Illustrated Publishing (originally Design on Q). Since publishing our first title ‘Kuwi’s First Egg’ in 2014, Illustrated Publishing now has over 22 books, with more in the pipeline.
I feel very lucky to travel around Aotearoa meeting kiwi kids, talking about illustration, writing & book creation, as well as helping to educate and raise awareness of our endangered kiwi population. My favourite thing is beginning the illustration process on a new book, and having my children peek over my shoulder and give me pointers."
