- This art reproduction captures the enchanting beauty of the Otago region, a scene that artist Michelle Bellamy has meticulously studied over many autumns. After catching a fleeting glimpse of the Hawkdun Range 15 years before, the artist felt an irresistible pull to return, embarking on a journey through a storm and into the night, all in pursuit of the perfect moment, a 'icing-sugar' dusting of snow on this vast range.
Michelle Bellamy has created another similar painting (Falling Dusk) to fully explore the intricate light and color transitions during the 'magic hour' before dusk. The result is a breathtaking portrayal of the Hawkdun Range bathed in warm golden and red hues, contrasted with the cool blue shadows.
The dual-painting approach allows for a deeper appreciation of the ever-changing light and colors that define the landscape during dusk, making this reproduction a unique addition to any art collection.
