- Fed by the Manuherikia River, Falls Dam is an elevated irrigation storage dam near St Bathans with good fishing for brown trout. After traveling along an almost endless, dusty gravel road the landscape spits you out at the little fishing hamlet. Surrounded by large rolling mountain ranges and vast golden tussock plains a little village of fisherman huts sits in a group to the north east of the dam.
