Mysteries with the Belgian detective Hercule Poirot. These can mostly be read as stand-alone in any order, but based on internal chronology The Mysterious Affair at Styles is the first Poirot story and Curtain was written to be the final Poirot story and should be read last. This list is numbered using internal chronology. Because of spoilers about some previous books are given in some later books, these points should be noted:
1. The Murder of Roger Ackroyd and Death in the Clouds should be read before Dumb Witness.
2. Lord Edgware Dies should be read before After the Funeral.
3. Murder in Mesopotamia should be read before Murder on the Orient Express (Mesopotamia story took place before Orient Express).
4. Three Act Tragedy should be read before Hercule Poirot’s Christmas.
5. The Labours of Hercules should be read before One, Two, Buckle My Shoe.
6. Five Little Pigs should be read before Elephants Can Remember.
7. Cat Among the Pigeons should be read before Hallowe’en Party.
8. Mrs McGinty’s Dead should be read before Hallowe’en Party and Elephants Can Remember.
