Fruit Cru Blanc 750ml
Bright, textural, and completely unique, Fruit Cru Blanc sits somewhere between a wine and a cider, and it’s exactly the kind of bottle we love to share. Born from organic, foraged fruit and wild ferments in the heart of Te Aro, Wellington, this cuvée co-ferments Sauvignon Blanc skins from the Urlar Vineyard with Braeburn, Fuji and Crab Apples. Aged nine months in tank, it’s full-bodied, richly textured, with solid tannins and a bone-dry finish.
Proving that grapes aren’t the be all and end all when it comes to delicious fizz, Wellington-based Jesse Phillips and Cosmo Hawke produce this clever range of fruit Pét-Nats. Organic, co-fermented fruit is pressed to bottle before the ferment finishes without any additives. Where possible they use fruit considered ‘seconds’ to the grocery world, or that would otherwise fall to the ground, thereby reducing waste.
