Villa Barcaroli Montepulciano d'Abruzzo 2022

Far from your run of the mill Montepulciano, there’s some serious power and concentration here. There’s a brooding, dark fruit profile, with porty, almond biscotti notes. It has density and a warm, straw-like savouriness in the palate, and it’s not without freshness. Biodynamically grown in Abruzzo on Italy’s east coast, this is aged in stainless steel for 6 months.

Villa Barcaroli is owned and run by the Bartolomei family, who are based in the Marche. All of their estates, that extend to the regions of the Marche, Abruzzo, Lazio, Tuscany and Sicily, are managed organically.
