2024 Donnhoff Hermannshohle Trocken GG Caros Wines NZ

A superbly complex dry Riesling from a Grand Cru single vineyard considered the very best in the entire Nahe region. Hermannshohle is on a steep river-bend near Oberhausen where black slate and volcanic minerals face directly south. Deep minerality sits beneath a broad-textured, deeply-fruited palate with flow and approachability now but also good potential to age. Essentially a cultural treasure, if not something of a religious experience.
