Flore Black Arc Floor Lamp
If you rent, or the ceiling above your couch has no wiring, a pendant light is off the table. Flore is the plug in answer. A slim matte black arc rises from a marble disc, sweeps out over the seat and hangs a generous linen drum right where a pendant would go.
A drum worth sitting under
The shade is a white fine linen drum, 40cm across and 22.5cm deep, one of the larger shades in our range. That width throws a wide, even pool of light over a couch end or a reading chair, and the linen softens it on the way through, so it feels like lamplight rather than a spotlight. The drum hangs from the very tip of the arc, floating clear of everything beneath it.
Black on black, on purpose
The arc is slim matte black steel that arrives flat packed and assembles into a single sweeping curve, its slim segment joints sitting neatly along the line. Down at floor level sits a round black marble base, 28cm across with natural white veining, and it carries most of the lamp's roughly 6.6kg, which is exactly where you want the weight on a full size arc. Switching is a black foot switch on the fabric cable. It takes a single E27 globe up to 60W, not included.
Sits best
Over the end of a couch, above a reading chair, or curving across a bedside corner. The arc tops out around 195cm, still comfortably under a standard 2.4m Kiwi ceiling. Fit a warm white globe and the linen drum glows soft and golden, the kind of light rooms get used in.
