New Zealand Beeswax 1 kg block

By popular demand, we're making a limited amount of our beeswax available. This is New Zealand beeswax with no additives, and comes from virgin cappings wax harvested during honey extraction.

These 1 kilogram blocks of beeswax has been refined and cleaned with multiple filtrations and settling over water, resulting in a beautifully clean yellow wax which retains its natural honey aroma.

Of course, if you're wanting to make beeswax food wraps, we strongly suggest you use our pre-blended DIY blocks , which already contain exactly the right mix of beeswax, damar tree resin and coconut oil

Tip: Beeswax has a melting point of 61 - 65 degrees celsius. To get the best out of our beeswax, do not use more heat than is necessary, and heat only for as long as is required. Use a double boiler to avoid hot spots - excessive heating temperatures or duration can darken beeswax and damage its scent.

Gently refined using only water, heat and filtration, our beeswax retains its natural golden colour and delicious honey scent.

Colour will vary, just as it naturally does in the hive, but will be in the yellow range (ie, not brown or white)
