CHIHULY MASTERPIECES II Coho
In a celebration of craftsmanship, renowned studio glass artist Dale Chihuly has collaborated with The Rug Company on a second collection entitled Masterpieces II. Inspired by Chihuly’s glass oeuvre, these four rugs challenge the notion of textile craft by capturing the fluidity, energy and translucency of glasswork through wool and silk.
Inspired by Chihuly’s glasswork, Coho presents a palette of 32 individual colors that illustrate free-flowing lines and spontaneous droplets, translating the abstract markings of glass blowing into a piece of art for the floor. A combination of Tibetan silk and wool varies the vibrancy of each particular color, enhancing the delicacy and transparency of the motif’s appearance. Technique: Handknotted Tibetan wool and silk. Knot count: 100 knot
