Have you been wondering what it’s like to visit the underwater world or do you want to become more confident in the water? A Discover Snorkel Experience is a great way to get the most out of your snorkelling equipment and improve your snorkelling skills. Being comfortable and confident on your next adventure!
First up you will be introduced to some of the equipment required for snorkelling and then we will fit you out. Next up we will head into our 3.5 metre deep heated diving pool. We start in the shallow end and introduce you nice and slowly to the exhilarating experience of skills to help you enjoy the underwater world. Once you are comfortable here, it is off to the deep end to complete your first ever duck dives and experience the deeper water.
Depending on your available time and goals we will cover how to:
- assemble, adjust and prepare your snorkelling equipment without assistance
- perform the buddy predive safety check
- correctly enter and exit the water safely
- adjust for proper weighting at the surface (buoyancy check)
- breathe through a snorkel and keep a clear airway
- use a buddy system
- snorkel swim at the surface in deep water
- make a vertical, head first duck dive from the surface
- Swim 15 meters (across) underwater on a single breath
- How to ascend safely
- Clear a snorkel using the blast method and resume breathing through the snorkel without lifting the face from the water.
- use different techniques to clear and breathe from a snorkel upon surfacing Schedule Options
We can customise your schedule to suit.
Sessions can be booked for couples, families, birthday parties and corporate events. For these we can book your group any time of day or day of the week as long as our pool is free and we have an instructor available.

Frequently asked Questions What will I need?
Swimsuit, towel and a sense of adventure. The pool is around 24-26•c but you will be more comfortable in a wetsuit, so if you have one bring it.
How long does it take?
Give yourself approximately 1-2 hours but it really depends on the group. If you are in a large, private group (over 6 people) it may take up to 3 hours.
What is he difference between snorkelling and freediving?
Snorkelling is very relaxed and the main aim is to snorkel comfortably at the surface and duck dive occasionally to inspect the underwater world a little more closely. Freediving is simply aggressive snorkelling. In freediving you concertrate on extending your breathhold. "Recreational Freediving" might include Spearfishing or Freediving on Shipwrecks. If you interested in extending your breathhold or getting into spearfishing we recomend the PADI Freediver Course.
Can my friends and family come and watch me?
They sure can. We have a relaxing area upstairs where they will have a great view of you in the pool. They can have tea or coffee and even take photos through the portholes in the side of our pool. What is Next?
