The a rare and vibrant reef fish prized for its brilliant golden colour and peaceful nature. Native to the deeper reef caves of the Coral Sea, this species is known for its unusual upside-down swimming behaviour and preference for shaded, rocky environments. It is fully reef-safe and makes an excellent addition to peaceful marine aquariums.
This species is currently feeding on EMA Mega Fish & Coral Food, a high-quality blend designed to support colouration and health. It will also accept a variety of frozen and small pellet foods. A minimum tank size of 100 litres is recommended, with plenty of live rock and hiding spots to mimic its natural habitat. Ideal water conditions include a temperature range of 24 to 26°C, salinity between 1.024 and 1.026, and a stable pH between 8.1 and 8.4. Maintaining low levels of nitrate and phosphate will help ensure long-term health and vibrant coloration.
The peaceful and does well when housed alone or in groups introduced at the same time. Its calm disposition and small adult size make it an excellent choice for nano reefs and community tanks.
