"Pataka" (Letterbox Forest) art print by Angus Collis

"Pataka" was created for a client with partial colour blindness who wanted a tree landscape in blue and yellow—the colours they see best. The work pairs golden ochre with vibrant blue to evoke memory, connection, and the enduring presence of nature.

Angus Collis is a New Zealand painter and printmaker inspired by the coastal landscapes of the Bay of Plenty. After years between city studios, rural retreats, and a decade in Barcelona, he now creates atmospheric landscapes that blend observation with a sense of mystery.
