The easiest way to tell if a door is left or right-hung is to stand directly in front of the door on the side that opens towards you. Now, follow these steps:
- Stand in front of the door – Make sure the door is closed.
- Pull the door towards you – If the door swings towards you, look at the hinges.
- Check the hinge placement:

- Left-hung door: If the hinges are on your left, it’s a left-hung door.
