- Door Care & Maintenance
To ensure the long life and performance of your timber door, proper care and finishing are essential. Preventing Timber Decay
Wood decay—commonly caused by fungal infestation—occurs when unprotected timber is exposed to damp conditions over time. Mould spores grow and penetrate the timber, breaking down the fibres and weakening the structure until the wood is compromised.
To prevent this:
Clean external doors annually to remove dirt and mold.
Inspect all exposed wood at least once a year.
Paint or seal doors on all six sides immediately after delivery, following the paint manufacturer’s instructions.
Seal all joints, edges, and corners to prevent moisture entry.
Repair any cracks or paint damage promptly. Storage & Handling
Proper storage before installation helps prevent damage and defects:
Store doors flat on a level surface. If vertical storage is necessary short-term, ensure at least two upright supports are used.
Do not lean doors upright on one end or against a wall.
Avoid exposing doors to direct sunlight, extreme heat, humidity, or dryness before finishing.
Direct sunlight may cause irreversible "sunburn" marks on raw timber.
Handle with clean hands or gloves and never drag doors—always lift them. Upon Delivery
Inspect your doors immediately for warping, visible damage, or defects.
If damaged in transit:
Refuse the delivery or file a claim directly with the freight carrier.
Take clear photographs of any damage to support your claim.
Do not cut, hang, or finish any doors if you intend to return them.
Keep doors in original packaging whenever possible for. Damage Claims & Return Policy
To ensure clear responsibility and a smooth process, our return and claims policy is as follows: Order Confirmation

The docket is signed "Subject to Inspection"
No visible damage was recorded at delivery Finishing Requirements
