Duckbill valves are a small part of your breast pump, but they have a big effect on how well it maintains suction. As they wear out, you may notice your pump doesn’t feel as strong or you’re needing to increase the suction level to get the same response.

Our Flow & Flourish Duckbill Valves with Pull Tab are compatible with Spectra-style pumps, Maymom Connectors, Medela Manual Harmony and Flow & Flourish flange pieces.

The pull tab makes them much easier to remove from the flange or connector without having to pinch, pull or stretch the valve itself. This helps reduce unnecessary damage to the silicone when taking your pump apart for cleaning. Compatibility

- Simple to wash and replace When should I replace my duckbill valves?

Duckbill valves are a consumable pump part and will gradually wear with use.

How often you need to replace them depends on how frequently you pump. Someone pumping once or twice a week may get much longer from a set than someone exclusively pumping several times a day.

Consider replacing your valves if:

- the opening no longer closes completely
- the valve looks stretched, split or damaged
- you notice a change or drop in suction
- you're needing to use higher suction settings than usual
- your pump performance has changed without another obvious cause

If you're exclusively pumping, it can be useful to keep a spare set on hand so a worn valve doesn't suddenly leave you with a poorly performing pump. Options

Wash after use with warm water and dishwashing liquid, rinse well and allow to air dry completely.

When removing the valve, use the pull tab rather than pulling on the thin silicone around the valve opening. Avoid using bottle brushes or other objects inside the valve, as these can damage the silicone.
