BEAD:
Folding clincher: Vittoria premium cotton clinchers are handmade and use the same production process and properties as the tubular. The most convenient choice, as this construction allows the tyre to be re-used in case of puncture.
Tubeless-ready folding clincher (TLR): New TLR construction offering ultimate puncture protection and speed. It uses a robust new bead material called Zylon for optimal air retention. Tubeless-ready set up is the lightest and fastest option.
CASING:
Nylon: The advantages of nylon casing is that they are strong and durable. As the nylon fibre is more robust than the cotton one, it provides higher puncture resistance and extends the durability of the casing. However, the nylon casing is not as flexible and lightweight as the cotton one.
Both cotton and nylon casings from Vittoria are top quality. The choice depends on the rider’s needs. Cotton tyres are a better choice if you are looking for race performance, speed and lightweight above all (as used on the Corsa models). Nylon tyres, such as Vittoria Rubino Pro, are a better choice if you are looking for a robust and durable tyre, that provides higher puncture protection.
