The design of this brooch is based on the Piwakawaka (NZ native fantail). It is made from rimu and is hand painted in white and a little metallic. They have been sealed with beeswax to protect.The brooch is approximately 50cm long and 60cm high with a hook catch brooch back.

A sweet honeybee with graceful, downward-curved wings. This lovely brooch will look perfect perched upon a coat, jacket, scarf or even a winter hat. Its wingspan measures 50mm and the height of the bee is 32mm. The bee is made from brass and plated in silver then antiqued to bring out the beautiful detail in the brooch.
