Nadia Turner is an Australian illustrator and artist who creates her wayward wonders from a small studio in the Dandenong Ranges, just outside Melbourne. Working across acrylic on wood and canvas, ink and watercolour, and paper and textile collage, she draws inspiration from surrealists such as Remedios Varo and Leonora Carrington, the Pre-Raphaelites, traditional folk art, children's books, and ancient myth and legend — always reaching for a sense of otherworldliness that leaves the viewer wondering who her characters are and what worlds they inhabit. Nadia exhibits her work across Australia and overseas and takes on illustration projects for publishers and private clients alike, with a particular fondness for children's picture books. When she's not in the studio, she can usually be found browsing bookstores or wandering the forest in search of mushrooms and treasures. Publisher
