Adhesive permanently remounts mirrors to windshields LOCTITE® Rearview Mirror Adhesive is approved and used by GM, Ford and Daimler-Chrysler. Permanently remounts mirrors to windshields. Achieves handling strength in seconds; mirror-mounting strength in 15 minutes. Available in single and multi-application size packaging. Typical Applications: Mounting rearview mirrors to windshields.
Directions:
- Remove mirror-mounting button from mirror bracket.
- Mark OUTSIDE of windshield with crayon/marking pen to identify old location of rearview mirror.
- Thoroughly scrape inside windshield glass and mirror button with a safety razor or utility knife to remove old adhesive. Wipe clean with an alcohol saturated cloth.
- Squeeze activator ampule until vial inside breaks, releasing activator to felt tip. Remove paper sleeve.
- Apply a good amount of activator to the mounting surface of the mirror button and windshield where the button is to be positioned. Allow activator to dry for 5 minutes. DO NOT TOUCH mounting surface of the button or the glass.
- Cut or break off the adhesive cap. Apply a drop of adhesive to center button.
- Immediately apply the button to the windshield, making sure it is the right way up, and hold firmly for 1 minute. Allow to set for 15 minutes. Mount mirror to button.
