Forest & Bird’s CEO Nicola Toki, Joyya, and Jesse Mulligan have teamed up to bring you Critter of the Week – a celebration of the quirky, lesser-known native critters and plants of Aotearoa. Catch them every Friday, 1–4pm on RNZ.

This special edition design was inspired by the nostalgic feel of the old-school science books you’d find lying around Kiwi homes in the 80s and 90s – a little bit of retro charm, a little bit of science, and a whole lot of love for our critters.

Beautifully illustrated by Giselle Clarkson and backed by science consultant Mike Dickison, these totes are more than just something to carry with pride – they’re a connection to the natural treasures that make Aotearoa wild and wonderful.
