Salt Glaze Cup 01

An elegant stoneware cup. For this collection maker Jack Tilson has experimented with a salt ash glaze using a wood fired kiln, made from cobble and bricks. Natural sea salt is added when the fire is at its peak, bringing attention to irregular surface details. The glazing process accentuates the individuality of each piece, creating a range of deep molten greens and browns that glow in the setting sun.
