Kanuka dried leaves and flowers

Kānuka (Kunzea ericoides) is a beautiful native New Zealand “tea-tree", closely related to mānuka. Its aromatic leaves and delicate flowers have been valued traditionally by Māori and continue to be used today in a variety of herbal preparations.
Kānuka is traditionally valued for its antibacterial, antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties and was used by Māori for supporting the body with pain and inflammation, as well as for various skin conditions.
At KoruKai, we sustainably harvest kānuka from our farm on Banks Peninsula, gently drying the leaves and flowers to preserve their natural aroma and valuable plant constituents.

Herbal uses

Dried kānuka can be prepared as a herbal decoction for internal use or infused into oil for topical applications.

We particularly enjoy using it for:

- Herbal tea and decoctions
- Herbal foot soaks
- Infused oils for topical preparations
- Traditional skin and body care
- Herbal tea blends
