This winter, on Otago Harbour
the mirror images are clearer
   than ever before.
The harbour waits, still and silent,
soaking up the meagre sun, silk-like,
   white-blue, crystalline.
In it, everything is reflected —
Hereweka, stone railway embankment,
   and a sign with distinct writing
Slow down.
The beauty is multiplied, with
symmetry, simmering muted colours,
   the world immersed, reformed.
