An early work by Turnbull, the painting explores the sense of motion and the passing of time through expressive brushwork and loose, layered forms. The model is writer Sugar Magnolia Wilson.

The original painting was awarded a Merit Prize at the Molly Morpeth Canaday Award, recognising Turnbull’s distinctive approach to contemporary painting.
