To set up:
Just unplug your existing fairy lights and replace the plug with the 1m Power Plug Cable included with the Dimmer Unit.

Your new setup will look like this:
Power Plug Cable → Dimmer Unit → Fairy Light Strings

Only compatible with Love Your Lights dimmable fairy lights. If you try and use this with another supplier's product it will not work.
