St Cabrini - Patron Saint of Immigrants - Gold
Often referred to as the Patron Saint of Immigrants, Mother Cabrini is the first and only Italian American female Saint in the United States. She also founded 67 institutions worldwide, the most that has ever been organized by one person.
Maris Francesca Cabrini was the youngest of 13 children and from a young age she was determined to make religious work her life's vocation.
Strong-willed and determined as ever, she overcame aquaphobia after a near-drowning incident as a child, to travel 12 days across the Atlantic Ocean from Italy to New York. It was here that she was met with disease, crime and impoverished youth. But using her entrepreneurial mind, and skills as a Teacher, Cabrini embarked on a daring mission in the US to secure housing, welfare & healthcare for society's most vulnerable.
This resulted in her establishing 67 houses (1 for each year of her life) and founding several schools, hospitals & orphanages throughout her lifetime in support of immigrants across the country.
Wear this special piece as an honor of determination, will-power and to celebrate the incredible women who pave a pathway before us, to be able to live in the world we do here today.
Her special day is celebrated on November 13 each year. DETAILS
