St Fiacre - Patron Saint of Gardening Necklace - Gold
Hey Green-fingered talents out there, Saint Fiacre is your guy!
Said to be an Irish monk who travelled to France in the seventh century to fulfil his missionary work, St Fiacre soon started to share and showcase his magical garden talents. On arrival to France, Saint Faro said that he would gift St Fiacre a large piece of land, but only if he could build a ditch in one day – in which he did!
On this land, a monastery was built and St Fiacre got to work planting a large and fruitful vege garden. He quickly became known for the quality of the vegetables and herbs he grew there. The plants that St Fiacre grew and his knowledge of how to apply them produced incredible healing abilities for the sick. People flocked to him and his prosperous garden.
Saint Fiacre is said to have used his garden-grown herbs to cure many kinds of ailments for all humans throughout his life. He also shared his knowledge of plants and is said to have brought luck to others in helping their own gardens and plants flourish.
Today, gardeners across the globe have been known to call on him for help when planting their vegetable beds and healing plants. After all, miracles happen in gardens every day!
His special day is celebrated on August 30 each year.
