Tākaro is a simple, fast-paced Māori language card game designed for the whole whānau. Each card features symbols with their direct reo Māori translations, helping players memorise and learn key vocabulary in a fun, competitive way.

Players flip over two cards and race to spot the matching symbols — the first person to call out the correct Māori word wins the round. It’s an easy, engaging way to learn te reo Māori, practise pronunciation, and build confidence.

Suitable for ages 4 , each round takes 10–15 minutes and focuses on recognising 57 common Māori symbols and saying their names accurately.
