Double Manaia Heru

This Double Manaia Beef Bone Heru is 170mm x 40mm and has 4 prong with Pāua Shell Pieces. A heru is a Māori decorative wearable comb, suitable for both genders.

- The shape of this design is a Manaia, the head of a bird, body of a man and a tail of a fish. A guardian and protector. The balance between the sky, earth and sea. In both pieces there are 2 Manaias which symbolises protection of one person for another and also protection from all directions for the wearer. The Korus inside the Manaia represent the continuous movement of life, new begginings, new opportunities, growth and harmony. It is a powerful representation of renewal and change.
