iCare Low Side Rail NZ | Low-Profile Bed Safety Rail

A low-profile side rail that does two jobs: it gives handholds for repositioning and sitting up, and it forms a low barrier along the edge of the mattress that may help reduce the risk of rolling out of bed.

WILL IT FIT?
✔ Fits iCare homecare beds only — it slips onto the bed frame, so it will not fit an ordinary divan or slat bed
✔ Slides on and off without tools
✔ Can be positioned anywhere along either side of the bed
✔ Charcoal finish to match iCare bed frames
✔ Not sure it suits your bed? Send us a photo of the frame and we'll check before you order

HOW IT WORKS
The rail slips into the accessory socket on the side of the bed frame. Its horizontal bars sit close to mattress height, giving several handholds without standing tall over the bed. Because it's low, a carer can still reach across easily for personal care.

LOW OR HIGH SIDE RAIL?
The Low Side Rail keeps the bedside open and is easier for a carer to work over. The High Side Rail is taller, with four bars and elevated handholds, and gives more of a barrier for someone who moves about a lot in bed.

SUITABLE FOR
Someone who needs bedside handholds plus a modest edge, but not the full height or length of a hospital-style rail. Used in homes, aged residential care and rehabilitation settings.

SAFE USE
Bed rails should be selected following an assessment — an ill-fitting or unsuitable rail carries an entrapment risk, and a low rail is not a substitute for a full-height rail where one has been recommended. Check the rail is fully seated in its socket before each use.
