Featuring the conference’s bespoke tohu and design elements, this lamp is a meaningful taonga that represents unity, connection, and the historic moment where Indigenous judges from around the world gathered in Aotearoa for the first time.
Each lamp is designed and handcrafted by Nichola Te Kiri, a celebrated Māori designer known for her contemporary approach to Indigenous storytelling. The hed detailing and custom branding make this a one-of-a-kind collector’s piece.
Design:
The design draws inspiration from three interwoven triangular forms , each representing connection, strength, and balance. Triangles are deeply significant in many Indigenous and Pacific traditions, symbolising people, place, and purpose, or past, present, and future.

Material:
- Base is plywood with a LED light strip inside.
- Panels are clear perspex (3mm thick) & silver gravograph front panel.
Care Instructions:
Please handle your lamp with care, avoid touching the clear perspex part of the lamp and carry or move by holding the base only.
You can clean your lamp with a damp cloth, making sure not to scratch the clear perspex or metallic material. If you would like to polish the lamp, spray some pledge cleaner on a cloth and wipe your award in circular motions until all streak lines have disappeared.
It is very easy to scratch the perspex, so please avoid doing this as they will show up when the light is on. Scratches are unfortunately near impossible to remove
