Purapura Whetu Skirt
This pattern that adorns this skirt is called Purapura whetū , created by co-owner of Nōku, Pania.
Inspiration was drawn from traditional tukutuku panels seen in marae. The two hero patterns used in this tohu are niho taniwha and purapura whetū.
Purapura whetū : represents the stars in the sky and the great number of people of a nation
Niho Taniwha: symbolises whakapapa, strength, guardianship and unity of hapū within iwi
