Kanan Jarrus was one of the few Jedi to survive Order 66. In hiding, he trained Ezra Bridger as an apprentice, offering a path back to his own destiny. Watching their backs is the "muscle" of the crew, Garazeb “Zeb" Orrelios, a Lasat with a particular fondness for beating up stormtroopers.
