Untitled (Shark & Shag)

Dean Venrooy (1962 –) works on a very small scale creating magical and surreal realist visions of a possible world. The flora and fauna that surround him and the Lyttelton Harbour landscape he lives in are constantly referenced in his work. He uses a minimal palette to enhance the intensity of each work. Dean live in Governors Bay and works from a studio on the edge of the harbour.
