Up Quark

Wilhelmus Ruifrok was born in Den Hague, the Netherlands in 1952. His family immigrated to New Zealand in 1965.

In 1971 he graduated with a Diploma of Graphic Design from the Christchurch Polytechnic. Later he did further study at Ilam Art School, Canterbury University. He spent time back in Europe studying other artists' works and gaining inspiration through more current work.

Ruifrok's recent work has involved digital manipulation of images creating colourful works on aluminium.
