Valerie Heinz

1928 – 2022

Valerie Heinz was born in Greymouth and studied in Christchurch at the Canterbury School of Art 1942 – 1948. Following this she travelled to London where she studied for 3 years at the Regent Street Polytechnic School of Art. On her return to New Zealand she first taught at Craighead Diocesan School, Timaru, then Waikato Diocesan School, Hamilton before returning to Christchurch where she began her 28 year period at Christchurch Girls’ High School.
