Fiona Lees graduated from Otago University with a Bachelor of Pharmacy in 1993, then completed a Bachelor of Visual Arts and Design at NMIT in 2010.

Lees works with a range of different media from painting to video projection and also ceramics and photography. She continues to fund her art practice by working as a pharmacist.
