Julia Morison ONZM (1952-)

In a career that has spanned more than four decades, Christchurch-based artist Julia Morison works across a wide range of media including painting, sculpture, photography, installation and recently ceramics. Morison’s rich and ambiguous practice is built upon a foundation of complex symbolism, referencing Euclidian geometry, the legacies of constructivism and formal abstraction, Hermeticism, the Kabbalah, alchemy and memory systems.
